PR und Journalismus – Wie Teufel und Weihwasser?

Die Zahl der Pressemitteilungen, die tagtäglich auf den Tischen der Zeitungsredaktionen landen, wird immer größer. Die Zeit, die Journalisten hingegen noch für Recherche bleibt, nimmt stetig ab. Ist es da nicht eine logische Konsequenz, dass immer mehr PR Texte abgedruckt werden? Dabei erbringt doch vor allem der Recherchejournalismus eine demokratische Leistung und fungiert als Kontrollinstanz gegenüber der Politik.
Der Verein Netzwerk Recherche soll eine Lobby für den in Deutschland vernachlässigten investigativen Journalismus sein. Unsere Redaktion sprach mit einem Vorstandsmitglied über den zunehmenden Einfluss der PR auf den Journalismus und stellt unter anderem fest, dass auch für die PR ein unabhängiger kritischer Journalismus entscheidend ist.
